Hey all thanks for taking the time to read this and possibly give your opinions.

This is as close as I have ever come to actually booking an African trip.

I am looking for other peoples impressions of Mark and his company.
How did your trip go?
Were you satisfied with your experience?
Was he able to help the small problems disappear?
Basically, can I rely on him to help me through this process?

As to the Outfitter.
The hunt I am looking at is a Pac Elephant hunt with Zambezie Hunters. I know the Elephant is NON EXPORTABLE. But I am ok with that. I want the experience more so than the Ivory. After the Elephant part of the hunt, we will be off to the SAVE for plains game. This is a 10 day hunt, though I might add on a few days. (Dates to be at the end of March beginning of April 2011)
What do people think of Zambezie Hunters?
Any issues what so ever?
What do you think of this hunt at this time of year?
My wife will be coming along (Non Hunter)
Any thoughts on taking your spouse along?

If you find this forum to public to share your thoughts, please feel free to send me a PM.

This Web Site was a HUGE help in booking my Alaska Brown Bear hunt. I would love to have the same experience.
Thanks in advance for your help

Those are a few links that I found from just this past season (posted by me, L. Shores, and Dave Diven). I also linked Anton's elephant hunt from 2008. Several others who post on here have hunted with ZH.

All of the above posters are rebooked with ZH for buffs, leopards, lion, and elephant spread over the next three seasons. I think I can speak for Anton in that he would not hesitate to hunt with ZH again.

Save is the place for the wife. No issues there. Pegleg's report shows the Sango tented camp while safari-lawyer's report shows the permanent Sango lodge. There are less pics of Hammond and ARDA accomodations, but LarryShores' report references those digs. Pics of Mahenye elephant camp are likely on Anton's report or can be seen on the web at www.zambezihunters.com.

Mark is a good guy, I'd not hesitate to book through him.

Send me a PM if you want to talk to me on the phone or if you want your wife to talk to my wife.

Johnnie Hulme is an outstanding PH. We first met Johnnie during August 2000 when he was my husband's PH for lion and buffalo in Chirisa.
We have remained friends ever since.

You cannot go wrong hunting with Johnnie or his company Zambezi Hunters.

Mark set up the sightseeing portion of my last safari and he was great. When I had a question I would email him and he typically called me back before I finished hitting the send button. The hunting portion of my trip would have gone better if I had Mark set that up as well instead of booking direct with the outfitter. Live and learn.

We have never used Mark but by all accounts you will be in good hands.

Ref the operator ZH . They are great. All there PH are excellent, camps etc very very good. I would not hestitate to take your wife. I do not know their Mahenya area but I think it is safe to say their Save camp is probably the best in the country.

I would book it if I was you!

I used Mark to book a hunt in 2006 with Safari Trackers and have discussed several more African and US hunts with him over the past years. From my experience, Mark is a straight shooter and is honest about setting realistic expectations about the conditions and trophy quality on your hunt. In addition, if you use Mark, you will get to work with the staff at Safari Trackers to get all your paperwork and payments in order. Jamie at Safari Trackers is amazing! In short, you will not go wrong working with Mark, and I highly recommend him.

Good hunting!

IMHO you can't really go wrong with Zambezi hunters, as many here have said. Someone on here who has stayed/ele hunted @ mahenye a few times is Tim Burkhart, if he doesn't respond to this thread send him a PM ,he will give you all the info you could possibly need about that area.
I would imagine for the plains game with the wife portion of the trip they will steer you towards sango camp which is from all accounts an amazing place- look @ safari Lawyers review.

In Short I wouldn't worry @ all about booking this trip with Mark and Zambezi you are definetly in good hands with good people.

I hunted with Zambezi in may/09 if you want drop me a pm and you could give me a call, I'm always happy to help out a fellow canadian. Smiler

I have been very fortunate to have hunted with Zambezi Hunters three times. I have been even more fortunate to have hunted with Jonny Hulme the primary owner and primary PH for Zambezi Hunters on all hunts. Jonny and I have taken a magnifisent Lion, buffalo and numerous plains game together. I have rebooked two more hunts with him, one for a leopard, buffalo archery hunt for 2011 and my wife Carolyn and my son Greyson will be going over with me to hunt as well in 2012. Alistair Pole is Jonny's partner and will do an outstanding job of arranging your hunt. Jonny has some of the finest PH's working for him in all of Zim. If you have any other questions feel free to call me on my cell at 847-738-4714

Welcome Mike !

Calgary Guy: Zambezi Hunters and all their PH:s are great. Safari trackers and all others at S T are the top booking agents in this business IMO).

I also hunted Mahenye - great place !

In my 15 trips to Africa, my hunt last October was the single most organized and efficient hunt I have been on. I would highly recommend them. I have rebooked to go to Mahenye in October for trophy bull elephants.

I have had excellent service from Mark and Safari Trackers. I have not hunted with Zambezi Hunters but have heard nothing but solid reviews of their company.
