Our Tame Elephant

SaeedOur Tame Elephant
This elephant was visiting our camp in Tanzania every day - normally while we were out hunting.
The first time it scared the hell out of Walter, then gradually, Walter and him became friends.
Here he introduces Pierre and me to his new found friend.
Pierre refused to come without his rifle.

500grainsKnowing what a prankster Saeed is, I cannot decide is this is an amazing experience, or a Photoshop experience!
But assuming it is a real photo, what is Walter's hand doing there?

JBrownWow Saeed, that is a friendly Elephant.
But where is his shadow?

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.
Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Walter was about to pull the elephants tail up.
He said "anyone can shoot an elephant. But, how many of you would dare pull an elephant by the tail?"

Don_GSaeed, you prankster!
That is a very good photoshop job, but it IS a PhotoShopped picture.
The feet and shadow directions give it away!

Walter was about to pull the elephants tail up.
He said "anyone can shoot an elephant. But, how many of you would dare pull an elephant by the tail?"
Or maybe he was planning on giving the elephant a prostate examination?

NitroXWalter has a very long left arm.
Very good "shopped" photo.

fusinoSaeed, very good photo play. Walter's hand on the tail gives it away though!

Kamo GariNow I know what the ducks feel like.
IMHO, this is clearly a case of our esteeemed host Saeed running interference for the lads falling out of favor. Using decoys, if you will. Good show just the same, and a noble gesture! And then again maybe Oswald *did* act alone...

SaeedWalter looked at all the answers and said:
"Typical bloody hunters! With their little brains they cannot imagine anyone doing something impossible for them to do!"
I said: "Walter, these hunters have a lot more hunting experience than you."
He said: "That is true. But how many of them have rested their hand on an elephant's backside? I am going back to Tanzania again, and I will find my friend the elephant and adopt him and bring him back here with me. Can I leave him here in your garden? My garden is a bit small for an elephant"
We will let you know on his progress in adopting the elephant!

NitroXMich
I am going to take a punt on your question.
It looks like a female, however I think it is a small tusked male. Its rear end shows what looks like the base of an undercarriage. Whichever it looks like an old elephant.
Walter should be able to tell us.

dogcatI did not realize that Walter was a proctologist, doing an exam for elephant colon cancer. New skills this man seems to have.
