Just in time for Christmas! Ndlovu - The Art of Hunting the African Elephant by Richard Harland is out. Snivelled a early copy this morning and done no work since. A darn good read and better than the hunting Imperative and in much the same league (though a very different book) as African Epic. It is printed in South Africa and available from African Sporting publications in Dallas, or African Hunter team in zim for those who reside in the fourth world | ||

Good luck on calling the African Hunter Magazine number here in the U.S. I have tried it over four times and get nothing but a recording and no one to return my telephone calls. Someone needs to pass that one on up to the boys in Zim, because someone isn't minding the store for them here. | |||

Hi Yanks Sorry for that- just seen Richard Harland again and apparently good old Africa wins again and the shipment to the US will only be there in early Jan so the book will be launched at SCI. Reno Booth number 2754/2756. And then at Dallas. Book is available from Rowland Ward - South Africa office as of yesterday for the lads down south. | |||

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Harland in August of '04 in Chifuti's camp on the Zambezi River. Spent about 4 night around the fire with him and what great company he was. With the history he has he was about most modest man I ever met and a true gentleman. I read the Hunting Imperative and it's one of my favorites. I have African Epic but haven't read it yet.
