Are there GS dealers in RSA? I wonder if it would be worthwhile to buy a whole bunch of bullets while I'm there and bring/ship them back. H. C.

I ordered 500 bucks worth of bullets on 12/4/2001. I received half of the order in November 2002. The other half was promised in December, January, February....In late March I received an email stating that the order had been shipped. But it has not arrived and air mail (which I paid for) does not take that long. GS has not responded to half a dozen emails. What am I to conclude from this?

500grains, you are to conclude from that that you are 10 times better off than the guy that was going to do some US distribution. He sent them $5,000 for the initial order....... JMO, Dutch.

Gentlemen, I have no idea what the problem with GS Custom is, but I would like you to know this. We have been shipping CD videos, books and calendars to some of the members of these Forums. Prior to 9-11, we did not loose ONE SINGLE shipment. Ever since that day of infammy, we are loosing between 10-15% of our shipments. Also, what used to take 5-7 days to get here from over seas, takes at leas 3 times as long now. I really have no explanation for this at all, just thought of bringing it to your attention.

As far as I'm concerned, "GS" can stick it. Life's too short to put up with this brand of unprofessional nonsense, and it's not as if there aren't other bullets that'll do the job just as well, and without all the fuss, wait, and disappoint. AD

500grains, I'd say you're out of luck, but not as badly as 'benchrest' might be ($5000?) Saeed, I wager that postal (or other governmental authorities) on either or both ends are inspecting the CDs for possible intelligence on terrorist activities. Once they see that they contain hunting videos, the hunters keep them, the anti-hunters trash them, and the non-hunters just forward them to their destination. Allen, You are dead on, as usual. Life's too short to put up with bullshit. George

I got some bullets from SOuth Africa recently. It took about 10 days? No more than 2 weeks, for sure. They were clearly labeled 'bullets' Whatever the problem with GS, it's not the shipping or postal service. We've read about 500 grains ordeal for a couple of years ago. From hs and others experience, I would come right out and say they run a shitty business and are committing fraud.

Speaking of which, I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but here in the Los Angeles area, the UAE has been advertising like crazy for business and tourism. Makes it look like a paradise..

Saeed, I suspect that there is some guy in customs that likes hunting, and he takes your videos home to watch a few times before sending them on.

I ordered mine in Dec 01 and received half my order in August 02. The last I heard from Gina was March 17 03, and she said they were in shipping. I sent an e-mail on May 17 asking for a tracking number, but i haven't heard back from that one.

If everyone sought refunds from their credit card companies would not some heat be directed to GS from those companies seeking recompense?

Saeed, part of your loses might be theft. They just arrested many of the newly hired airport security people in NY. Seems that they had criminal records, they were never checked out, and were just doing there thing.

GSC must have had so many complaints that they can't use credit cards anymore. They had switched to wired funds money transactions only by December 2002. Sadly I got sucked in for about $500 worth of bullets myself, having ordered in early December 2002. I had gotten four orders through before, hope sprang eternal. Hope has now died on the vine. Now it is six months, no bullets, no responses. I am writing it off as a con job. No more orders should be made by anyone, unless GSC makes everything right. It has come to sound like the old A-Square snow job. What is the telephone number prefix for an international call from USA to RSA, to see if I could give someone a piece of my mind?

Dial 011 and then 27 plus their number.

I dont know anything about the South African system of justice. Even so, Im willing to bet that fraud and theft by deception are crimes there as well as here. Since there seems to be numerous people with complaints perhaps a group action there is in order.

Members, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, but what makes the GS bullets better than what we have in the USA? We have some outstanding premium bullets, so why try to buy others from a third world country? Just wondering. BOWHUNR

quote:Hi Bowhunr (This isn't meant to be smart-ass either!) Well, first off many readers of this forum are not in the USA! Thanks to the harassment of the US State Department since 9-11, those of us in the rest of the world are eagerly looking for non-American suppliers. Secondly, the individual variation among rifles means that some will like different bullets than a similar rifle might. Having more brands to try means a better chance of finding one that shoots great. I like having choices, so I would like to support smaller businesses trying to succeed. I have been hoping to hear that GS Bullets has resolved their problems so that I could order some. Alas, it hasn't happened yet... jpb

Bowhunr, I have to agree with you. GS makes damn fine bullets if you can get them. However, as you can see that is the issue. There are some very good manufacturers right here in the states without all the hassel. Bridger for one makes a great product. There are others as well. I dont care how much I like GS bullets, it just isnt worth the BS you have to go through. Not to mention their none too stellar record of dealing with their (ex) customers like myself. Saeed, I agree that the events of 9/11 have changed things for ever. However, GS's problems have been ongoing for a lot longer than that. You can only hear so many excuses, rather lame ones at that, before you write them off. The customer service level is abominal. I dont care what else is going on, there is no excuse to not at least respond to correspondence. There is also no excuse to not be upfront and honest about any and all problems.
