Eland Slayernew opening for Namibia this year with Omalanga Safaris
Hello everybody. I'm sure most of you have heard of Omalanga Safaris (formerly Okanduka Seibe) and/or Dirk Rohrmann. My family and I were scheduled for a 21 day plains game safari this summer. Unfortunately, some unexpected things have come up at my dad's company and we have to postpone the safari. Out of respect to Dirk and Rita, I want to try to get our dates filled with another group or two. The dates we were booked for were July 16, 2008 - August 6, 2008 and we were to be hunting at the Oryx Camp and the Mopane Camp. You guys have no idea how disappointed I am to not be able to go. If any of you are interested in hunting plains game in Namibia this summer........on somewhat short notice.......please e-mail Rita at
reservations.omalanga@iway.na. Thanks guys.

FjoldIf I could get plane tickets, I'd look at it for a part of those days. I'm trying to use Gracy Travel to get tickets to Namibia this summer using my frequent flyer miles but it is getting tough.

Bill CThat's too bad, this is the 2nd time you had to cancel as I recall. One of these days you will get there!
Frank, do you mean that there are not many seats, or is the difficulty using your miles?

Charles_HelmMy experience has been that if you want to travel on miles you need to book 11 months or so in advance. Kathi Klimes arranged my travel on miles last summer but we had enough advance notice. The prior trip we were not able to do so since I had given less advance notice.

What airline are your miles on?

FjoldMy miles are on Continental Airlines
Sorry to hijack your thread Eland Slayer.
Maybe the increased traffic will attract someone to it and they'll be able to book some of the time.

dogcatTo use miles at this late date, ask the airlines what they would do for a 50% or 100% increase in the miles required. That has worked for me in the past.

You are correct........we were originally supposed to have gone during the summer of 2007 and we had to postpone until this year........virtually for the same reason. I sure hope I get there someday. It's starting to seem more like a dream than a reality.

AtticusES,
Very sorry to hear about your trip. That's very disappointing. My wife and I are heading over in late June for a hunt with Dirk and Rita. Like others have said, you'll get there, and it will be even better after all the anticipation.
