My trophies are at JFK no Warthog or other CITES animals since the 3rd of May. Coppersmith is the importer. Any idea of the wait time courtesy USDA and Customs? What has been anyone's recent experience been?

Mine usually show a USDA "hold" for 2 or 3 days, if you have the AWB (air waybill) number you can check the status online.

It will take up to 6 weeks for USDA and customs to get around to looking it over, so be patient
I never tell clients to ship to any port on the eastern sea board, they just are not very hunter friendly , esp for CITIES critters, all mine are shipped to SeaTac Wa and then to my studio to be cleared

They cleared today. I was notified by Coppersmith without me calling them. I was thinking about calling them today but got the email this afternoon. Final shipping confirmation and billing and they will be on their way.

I always use Coppersmith, even in Seattle. I've always had great service and communication.

I have always had my trophies shipped directly to Jonas Bros Taxidermy in Denver. They are a designated port of entry.

Hardly any USDA hold time as the Custom agents visits about once a week (or did).

I think they charge $50.00, which is waived if you get the taxidermy done there. I'll check next time I stop by.

I am in PA. I don't think I would gain anything sending to Denver or Seattle. $579 to my door since arrival in JFK. $1166 from JoBerg to JFK. I am very rural. 200 miles to big airport. Mine were done by AWA, African Wildlife Artistry
