I just had a Hi-Vis front bead put on my Citori trap gun. It made a huge difference for me. After I tried it I started thinking that it might be just the ticket for a safari rifle. What are your opinions and experiences using fiber optic sights? Not trying start an argumnet with the traditional guys who like the ivory beads just curious about it.

I am wondering the same. Seems pretty prominent on my turkey shotgun. One is on the way for the 416. We'll see how it compares to the white bead. (It appears that they are translucent plastic and not fiber optic as they are sometimes referred to.).

Yep, I got-em! I have and had the NECG on both my DG rifles. 458 Lott & 450 Dakota (took off the Dakota's). My findings are this. The optic is too large a diameter for anything shorter than 23/24" barrel... At 0-70yds they are fantastic and of course low light are superb, much better than ivory.. on the shorter barrel guns, with yardage any further than mentioned, they tend to block out too much of a buff's shoulder for the more precise placement.. If you do use one, be sure to get the skeleton type hood vs the target solid tube hood that NECG sells.. The solid hood deprives the fiber optic of light that it thrives on..450Dakota

I have fiberoptic EAW open sights on my .375 H&H (24" barrel) and they are very effective. The rear sight is a single standing blade (non-folding) that is skeletonized, and is dovetailed into an island base. This sight system simply doesn't obscure much of the target, and the fiberoptic inserts work well under more light conditions that white or gold front beads do. Very tough and solidly made of milled-steel contruction, my riflemaker screwed and soldered these sights to the barrel, and they just don't move. The rear sight is windage-adjustable, and elevation adjustments are made with the front sight. A really well-made, well-engineered system......

I fabricated one for my CZ 458 Lott out of a Hi-Viz shotgun bead, & love it! Much easier for older eyes. Regards Mike

I have one on my 458 Lott..The rear sight is a NECG and the front is also NECG...It is like a lazer dot out in front of you will post pics later of it...These were replacing the factory sights on the new Ruger bolt rifle in 458 Lott...
I like them very much and on the black of a buffalo will stick out like the sun in the sky..
