Namibia in October?
The beginning of the rainy season, I understand.

Is it too wet or too hot? The game extra spooky after being hunted all season?

I'd say it'll be HOT. In 2003 we went the first of Sept. and some days were pretty warm. In 2004 we were in RSA the first week of Oct. and a few days it was up around 100degs. It also rained a couple of afternoons.

If you hunt when it is hot be very careful with trophies. If you just want skull mounts, no problem. If you shoot a nice animal and want to keep the skin in good shape, you better start skinning fast. I would try and go when it is a little cooler.

I hunted Namibia last September. The mid day temp hit 115+ every day so we hunted in the morning and afternoons, avoiding 11am-2pm.
We had a great hunt, but I would go earlier next time if I could.

Thanks for the firsthand info. Kinda what I thought.
