K EvansForward Air declining to carry hunting trophies?
I received a text this morning who has a shipment of trophies coming from Namibia (after a year!) booked on shitty Ethiopian Air and was told that Forward Air would not carry hunting trophies from Dulles to DFW. I received a shipment from these carriers about 11 days ago. One might keep this in mind if hunting any of the big 5 animals. Will check with a contact at Forward Air tomorrow.
I think any further trophies will come by ship…

Mike B.I got 3 crates from them two days ago? If I’m understanding your comment about the big 5, the question I have is why would we need to be specific on any species inside the crate for an in country shipment? Can we not just say it’s taxidermy work and leave it at that?

lavacaThey are hired to haul a crate and there's nothing illegal in it. If they won't haul it, everyone should know and they should be boycotted.

SaeedActually, it is should ILLEGAL for any airline to refuse to carry ANY legal shipment!

the PomThe taxidermist in Lusaka told me that the only airline still willing to carry trophies is Ethiopian. He said that Qatar and Emirates have stopped. Getting trophies to New Zealand where Ethiopian does not fly could be an issue. Perhaps Saeed can have a word with Emirates?

No.
But I cannot blame them or other airlines.
They are under constant pressure to bow to the stupid environmentalists, ably supported by all Western governments.
Who are dictating to Africa of how they should run their countries and resources.

CaracalTurkish airlines is one of the last options for many countries.
It's becoming an issue.
@Saeed
Can't you become a major shareholder of Emirates and make them change their policy

And I got a crate from them about 10 days ago, the issue with Big 5 is the airlines, many refuse to carry these trophies. Just to see, I called the lady at Forward Air who helped with my recent shipment and she said she was unaware of any prohibition. Doesn’t mean the shipping refusal isn’t true, but they aren’t aware of it at DFw.

K EvansI received a message from the AR member that first brought this issue to light, he included an email from a Forward Air supervisor located in Ohio. Her email said they considered hunting trophies to be “original works of art” and would not carry them. Bet there are a couple of anti hunters making these rules, the Forward Air office at DFW knows nothing of this rule. Getting harder to get trophies back to the US. I’m going to look into having any future trophies sent by ship or find a cargo airline to ship.

WesheltonjThanks Karl, it was actually Zambia. I followed up after the “art” answer, that it was not complete mounts but artist materials. The answer to that argument was that they don’t carry human or animal remains. I have not had time to give them a lawyer definition of remains too busy hunting in Croatia.

SkylineShipping trophies is well on its way to becoming a significant issue for all of us. While some on here seem to be willing to just take pictures of whatever they kill, and I bet most of them already have full trophy rooms, the vast majority of hunters will not. The anti's have found a sweet spot and they are using it. Boycotts of big companies and politicians are not worried about losing what amounts to a handful of customers, they worry about the huge numbers that are against us. Hell I know all kinds of hunters that are against hunting the big 5.
I do not like where this is going...at all!
