I think I would rather book through a well known PH and be guaranteed a good hunt.

They make quite a few claims which I am not sure are true.

CAR is not the place to go at the moment. Personally I would not go, not take clients. It's just a unstable situation there at the moment and there is a reason all big companies left.

My last info is that no one has done an hunt in Alains area. If a testhunt has been done, you should definitely talk to the people who did it.

Another reason to avoid large, multi function websites to book a hunt.

Dealing with individuals who are aware of what is going on and up to date is the only way to go.

I would be interested to hear what you find out.

What species are you after?

CAR is an interesting country. I spent several months there years ago when Kolingba was president.

I can't help wondering though, if Stanley had said 'Hey, whoa, Africa's not the place to go at the moment'? Would CNN have reported that Stanley 'failed to find Livingstone owing to an abundance of caution'? Big Grin

I agree, exploring CAR would be great but booking a hunt with a very limited time schedule and (likely) limited Budget is a different story. If things go wrong there, you are in for a very big adventure (like this guy Link )

My advice for anyone hunting in a remote area is to take a policy with either Ripcord or Global Rescue.

I have been a member of Global Rescue for many years, and have not had to use their services.

And I hope I never will, but it is comforting to know they are there if you need them.

I went and had a look at this site again.

Personally, I would never book a hunt through them.

But, I a normally prefer to deal with whoever I am going to hunt with anyway, not through some website.

So, who would you book a hunt in CAR for Giant forest Hog and Red River Hog plus one or two other forest animals?

I will do some research by asking on specialist websites, like AR.

And get feedback from people who have been there.

Dealing with a big website one is never sure of what is really going on.

Please do not take me wrong, it is just the way I do my hunting.
