I was wondering if any of the foreign outfitters in Vegas tested positive after the show? Anyone stuck here in quarantine waiting for that negative test before they can get on the plane? Heard of anyone?

I believe Mr. Charlton did (tested neg for travel but got sick when he got home) but he is immunocompromised due to his seriously damaged liver.

Mike I think you hit the nail on the head with Buzz.

Also rumored that he does not know which way is up while swimming. Poor boy is directionally challenged, I am not sure how he make his way around while hunting without getting lost.

I have heard that many were affected, but to what extent I have no idea.

One report said "practically every one got from the show"

No idea how many.

But as we are seeing, things are looking brighter for most countries - New Zealand seems to be the exception today.

I know several passengers travelling to Switzerland this week, not required any tests any more, provided they are double shot vaccinated.

Frankly, I no longer listen to anything from the politically motivated CDC.

Ever since they got their nose involved in guns, they have lost the plot.

Them and Fauci are nothing but fear mongers, as has become very well know by now.

England is almost open, some countries in Europe are doing the same, others, of course, are going the other way.

Almost always points to a left leaning government.

I spent 3 full days at SCI, and Saturday at the Beinfeld Gunshow, masked the whole time. Passed the 5 day incubation period as I write this. Feeling great, I am triple vax'd, and have not tested...no reason!!
Thanks to my RN/ARNP wife, we have been taking Zinc and Pepcid for prophylaxis since it was first recommended last year.
Sadly on Friday I learned from Greg Harvey- Hunters Hill that neighbor Brian Edwards, owner of GOD'S MOUNTAIN Estate near Queenstown, SA, died from kidney failure after taking Invermectin preparing to come to the US for shows and his winter residence. I hunted Aoudad with him in 2019, a real gentleman and a character!! He will be missed, we planned to meet in Florida in April for Sun n Fun airshow...
I heard many So Africans were pre-treating as Brian did...
Wishing everyone the best... and as Larry Shores reported earlier, get medical attention if you get symptoms... he did and he had Pneumonia...and that is deadly if not treated!!

Some clever comments from the boys SmilerYes the day after I got back I got a high fever and sore joints and tested positive! This is the second time for me and after getting vaccinated and boosted!! I am 3 days in and turning the corner!

I can tell you I chatted to several people at the shows that even I, not being a doctor, could tell they were suffering from a bad cold or Covid! It is no surprise that I got it and was just grateful that I tested negative and could get home before it set in!!

Both me and Erika tested positive for the Rona the Monday after DSC. I got over it in three days and Erika took about 5 days. We were right as rain by the time SCI started, although Erika missed set-up and the first day at the show (we followed protocol). Every single person I spoke to after DSC got it. The guys that did not get it had it in the last three months. I guess we have to be glad that this strain is a "poodle" compared to the other ones.....Buzzer glad you got home bugger.

I heard that from a very credible source right after DSC. The credible source was in attendance at DSC and reported that everyone that he had been in contact with got it. Big Grin

As to a 'cold' or COVID, if you had a sore throat, along with your so-called 'cold' symptoms, you likely had the omicron version of COVID. We had all 21 of the family ill at Christmas time(thanks to one of our children's entire family bringing it to the rest of us from Cabo), and the 5 that tested when they were here, all tested positive. All had sore throats and so-called 'cold' symptoms.

I don't believe that the rumor stated by Saeed is correct as to SCI, sorry.

I heard of more people testing positive after dsc than I did after SCI . Not sure what to make out of that .

I can see why SCI may have had fewer cases. It might also be the travel schedule. Many left after SCI . I may not have heard .

Many have no symptoms at all, and so, don't test.

Who knows?

I was not going to violate Buzz's medical privacy rights.

But since it's already out, I will extend my best wishes to Buzz for a quick and full recovery.

Most are reporting mild, cold, or flu-like symptoms.

I hope and wish no worse than that for all who may get it.

I understand the incubation time average 5.6 days. So maybe the trick is to get tested quickly and scoot home after the show.

I arrived at the show Tuesday and left on Friday evening after 3 very full days talking and spending time in close proximity to many people. I tested before I left for the show because my parents both were positive after an emergency surgery and 5 day hospital stay. I was negative and minimized any contact for a full week before leaving for the show. Tested a second time Monday before the show and I am still negative (now I feel good about attending). Tested Saturday upon arriving home (negative) and again Saturday which was seven days after ( a final negative). I know of 4 others who also traveled to the show and none have tested positive or have had any symptoms whatsoever. Maybe I was just lucky?

At the moment more vaxxed than unvaxxed people I know have gotten covid. not surprising as I know WAY more vaxxed people than unvaxxed... but I have yet to meet a permutation (single/double/triple vaxxed/already had covid + vaxxed etc) that has avoided covid. It's a real bitch.

HA, HA Baxter, that's a good one!!

I am not crowing as that is a good way to get whacked!!.. But as of now, my wife and I are triple jabbed, I attended SCI for 3 days and Beinfeld for one.... and so far we are COVID free!! We have been taking the Zinc and Pepcid prophylaxis since early 2020 when it was recommended by University Docs...and I don't get heartburn either!!
Now, that said, we went to Costco in Palm Springs on Saturday and I have not seen such a big store, and it was MOBBED!!.... but everyone was very compliant and fully masked... as we have been all along... we'll see??!!
The Bugs are still out there, but the infections are coming down rapidly... seems that the ultimate, HERD IMMUNITY, is being reached??!!

I have been triple vaxed, had the original COVID-19, masked judiciously over the last many months and still got Omicron at Christmas time. You're not as protected or safe as you might think or believe. I agree with boarkiller.

USE ENOUGH GUN.... you missed the prophylaxis...

Covid Mask Salesman

A fleeing Taliban terrorist, desperate for water, was plodding through the Afghan desert when he saw something far off in the distance.

Hoping to find water, he hurried toward the mirage, only to find a very frail little old Jewish man standing at a small makeshift display rack - selling COVID protection masks.

The Taliban terrorist asked, "Do you have water?"
The Jewish man replied, "I have no water. Would you like to buy a mask? They are only $5."

The Taliban shouted hysterically, "Idiot Infidel! I do not need such an over-priced western adornment. I spit on your masks. I need water!

"Sorry, I have none, just masks - and only $5."

"Pahh! A curse on your masks! I should wrap one around your scrawny little neck and choke the life out of you but . . . I must conserve my energy and find water!"

"Okay," said the little old Jewish man. It does not matter that you do not want to buy a mask from me, or that you hate me, threaten my life, and call me infidel. I will show you that I am bigger than any of that. If you continue over that hill to the east for about two miles, you will find a restaurant. It has the finest food and all the ice-cold water you need. Go In Peace."

Cursing him again, the desperate Taliban staggered away, over the hill.

Several hours later, he crawled back, almost dead, and gasped, "They won't let me in without a mask!

And that’s some funny shit gentlemen
Thanks for the joke
I said this few times on AR
I’m in environmental business ( part of it is cleanup of all kinda animal excrements thus dealing with viruses ) and if OSHA and EPA and State DEQ ever caught us with these masks it would be hell to pay as in every one of the continuing education classes we go to every year, we learn these masks are simply and completely worthless protection
The only thing they are good at is large particles and even that they only work for minutes until condensation blocks them and then air flows around the edges
