I posted here earlier about a terrible hunt I had with Shingani Safaris in Zimbabwe. It was two years ago today I took a buffalo hunting with Riaan Vosloo and still no paperwork to make it exportable. I'm told now by the taxiderist that it's pretty much hopeless. All their getting is the run around by Vosloo also. I saved for years to go on this hunt and after getting nothing I paid for, I get no buffalo. I have some client in Europe that are going through the same thing with Shingani, so I and my freind are not the only ones. Best advice is to steer clear of Shingani Safaris. The man can't be trusted!

I am sorry to hear this and it wont help your situation, but the moral of the story is to use Zimbabwean outfits when hunting in Zimbabwe. There are several top PHs in Zim many of whom post on this very forum. In the same token I would never use a Zim PH to hunt in South Africa. As with lots of things in life there is no such thing as a cheap hunt, I am assuming you got a deal on this hunt. Arjun Reddy www.huntersnetworks.com

I bought this hunt at the SCI auction in Reno. I also had a friend that booked the same hunt and went with me. He did not get a deal and truthfully we could have bought a hunt with a Zimbabwean outfit cheaper. Riaan talked a big story and convinced us there was no better guy to hunt with then him. We learn from our mistakes, I just hope I can keep someone else from making the same mistake.

Thank You for the heads up to others. Last year I hunted in Zimbabwe with Chifuti, and had my trophys within 3 months, and I live in northern Canada, I thought that was fast. You cant go wrong with chifuti.

I have a friend who hunted with Shingani in SA, and has nothing but praise for them. I'm sorry things did not work out for you.

May be the reason for this bad episode is the fact that this was an SCI auction hunt. We have all heard how many of these don't turn out as people expected. I suggest you get in touch with SCI, and make life a bit difficult for them. It might make them open their eyes to their "donated" hunts turning sour! Or again, it might not.

Thomas, You bought the hunt at SCI auction in Reno? File suit against SCI. You bought the hunt through SCI and you were lead to believe that the hunt and outfitter were legitimate. SCI should pay for a new buffalo hunt to Zimbabwe. All expenses paid including airfare. dale
