I have just returned home from Namibia, and I did not get my cat. My PH and I tried hard, but I did not get a shot during my 20 days there. I am trying to get my funds together for another try, maybe in 2006, but I am now back to square one about where I should go this time. I killed alot of plains game this time, so I will focus on the leopard, and maybe kill a few things if it does not get in the way of the cat hunt. I was hoping if any of you have any suggestions, keeping in mind that MONEY is definetly a factor. I would prefer a bait hunt, but I would also consider using dogs. Is my unsucessful 20 day hunt unusual, or does this happen in the best of areas too?? I had hits on a few baits, but never did I see a cat...I did hear one on my last night. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks

Mike has it right, Zimbabwe. Leopard are never an easy hunt but I believe your best bet is Zim as well. I'd recommend Lemco as my first choice and I can set you up. ~Ann

Wolfgar, From hunting there and the feedback I get I think even the best leopard areas in Namibia are tough hunts. Zim, Zambia and Tanzanaia offer a much easier hunt if you are looking ifr a traditional baited hunt. I sent you a PM on a great hunt in Zim but I have not heard back from you. Regards, Mark MARK H. As Mark said, I think it is a tough hunt. I believe your odds improve quite a bit with dogs. AR member D Hunter recently returned from Namibia where he got his cat. His report and pictures are here.

It all depends on your budget. Tanzania has some great Leopard hunting, but it will be very pricey. Try a Kalahari tracking hunt with Bushman trackers. Expensive, but not as bad as Tanzania.

If I really wanted a leopard, I would hunt one with hounds in Zim.

Wolfgar, If you're looking at Tanzania (yes it is more pricey than other countries) we have fantastic areas. 100% on leopard last year. The 20th today and our clients have already shot 4 leopards. Please contact me directly (or Adam Clements Safari Trackers) All the best, Mohanjeet
