We have been killing time in Bulawayo for a couple of days. One of the things we did was visit TCI (formerly Taxidermy Enterprises). TCI recently held the grand opening of their new facility which consolidated all departments under one big roof. Cuan Meredith is now General Manager of the family business and has been for nearly two years. He is young and energetic and excited about the company. Their taxidermy work is very good, and a big improvement from what I saw two years ago. He had two leopard mounts at the Hunter's Ball that looked great. The buffalo and other animals looked very good also. After some recent post concerning shipping I was well pleased with TCIs crating. The only bad thing would be the chore of removing everything from the crate as it is secured very well. We are having leather products made from the buffalo; gun cases, culling belts, purses, teak folding chairs with buffalo leather, teak table, and several other items. We felt this would be more useful the mounts on the wall. If you are in Bulawayo with time to spend, go visit TCI, it is worth the trip just to see the ivory.
