We have finished our safari with Peter Chipman. Our PH was Sarge and he was great. We have been stuck in Lusaka for a week awaiting a PH to take us for Lechwee. It has not materialized and in fact we leave tomorrow for RSA. Later

IB404, who was the PH who was supposed to take you to Kfuwe flat? Did he work for Peter Chipman, or someone else? A week in Lusaka is expencive, on top of what you paid for the Leechwee hunt!

How did your Lower Lupande hunt turn out? I'm sure Peter's part in this was fine, but the Leechwee thing is disturbing!

Anyway welcome home, and let us see some pictures of your trophies!

Thanks for update //

Guests to cut a long story short regards K Lechwe ... there has been some restructuring turmoil with the main KL area in Kafue which was previously controlled by ZAWA, it has apparantly changed to private concession licences or similar and some squabbling and red tape has resulted in very expensive hunting or no hunting at all at this point in time

Unless you can get KL on private ranches I believe the kafue flats might have priced themselves out of the market, at least for 2005

That's sad news Peter, the KL were the best one could hope for!

Unfortunately life in Africa, although it has many lifestyle benefits, it had challenges as well, it is not the place to operate for those whom dont have a special attitude and those whom crack easily ..

Essentially ZAWA whom control hunting within Zambia are at times (almost a law unto themselves) and they can sometimes appear to be obstructing hunting instead of promoting it, that is a whole subject in itself. I know as we face reality each day in Africa, it aint that easy to operate ..

I dont believe the Kafue Flats will continue to be an ongoing problem, just that there will be difficulties whilst the new licence holders come to grips with reality ...

DONT give up hope yet, as Africa is there to challenge us, we must persevere, it is not easy for the faint hearted

Peter
