From D&L import brokers after talking directly to USFWS- "I have heard from Supervisor Tim VanNorman and the news for importing the elephant out of South Africa and Namibia seems to be a little more than securing an import permit "On July 6th any import of an elephant trophy will require an import permit issued by my office. To request the permit, applicants must submit form 3-200-19. In order to issue the import permit, my office must make an enhancement finding. While we have a very old finding for South Africa and Namibia, it needs to be updated. We are currently communicating with the countries." He also confirmed that old or new trophies, the import permit will be required. I have gone back for further clarification and I am hoping to hear within this week and I will continue to update." so sounds like as of now they may even deny eles from Namibia and RSA...
