This is rotten news. Since you've hung out with it for quite a while, I'm sure it will be all right. My thoughts are with you until I hear from you again, my friend.

Good luck Mac. As a long-term cancer survivor I can tell you that there is life after cancer. Keep a positive attitude and don't ignore what your body is telling you. Little problems that you used to ignore will now need to be addressed promptly. I know it sounds silly but I feel that I am a better person for having faced it.

You'll be up and hunting soon! My father has been a cancer survivor for the past 5 years (some say that he looks younger than me) and my mother in law for more than 12.
God Bless. I hope he holds the surgeon's hand. Attitude is everything as has been said before. We will pray for you. Hope you are back hunting soon. "D"

And, as others have said, attitude really is important! Keep a positive attitude! There is lots of research indicating a strong link between the immune system and a patient's attitude.

Thanks for the kind words, folks, I'm home now, and everything is OK! Outside some recovery, and learning to use my left hand, and arm again, I'll br fine. The cancer was in my left hand, and arm, It will be some time before I can handle a big bore Double rifle again, but That's better than looseing the arm, and maybe more!
Again, thanks for the kind thoughts!

Glad it all went okay. Even with a bum left arm you can still make deer season. Just use one of those light kicking, plastic stocked, push feed 700's Hang in there! Rich Elliott

Mac: as a fellow 9.3 or was it a fellow Merkel shooter?
anyway, an old friend of mine said when asked how he was:
"every day left on this side of the ground surface is good!!"
I am off to conditioning exercises. just had my 52 birthday yesterday, and my 17 year old son expects me to hike him into Idaho backcountry to get his second elk. What he does not realize is that I am in search of my first 6X6 more than in search of his second elk!!! We leave in 33 days, and my gut dunlops too much.
