Yes, i posted this in the other thread. It’s not bad. The frustrating part is that the sustainable hunting community has been saying the same things for years, but the lack of access to mass media has stifled their voice.

It would not matter to the emotional midgets.

They do not like hunting, so anything to stop that is justifiable!

The point isn’t to change anti-hunters minds. It’s to educate the vast majority of citizens that really have no opinion on hunting. Many people have no issue with it, but tell them about hunters shooting drugged lions inside of small enclosures and they’ll lean anti real quick. Tell them about the good things trophy hunting does for conservation in Africa and they’re likely to nod understandingly.

These people make up the bulk of the population. They’re not Pro or Anti. They are uneducated... your choice is to let the antis “educate” them or us do it.

Precisely. I once gave a presentation on elephant hunting to a class at the University of Washington. By the end of the class, the majority of students, while not necessarily pro elephant hunting, understood that a) they really knew nothing about it, b) it’s more complicated than they were willing to admit and c) were willing to accept the management practices that included hunting if it helped the overall community, and provided a bulwark against poaching.

My presentation was to be 20 minutes, but went for nearly an hour. The students were engaged, concerned, and asked tons of good questions. They were very much impressed by Buzz’s operation and DAPU, and that so much went into ensuring the health of the herd and environment. I happen to think part of the success of that presentation is that they were receiving the information from someone (me), who had built their trust and respect in other areas.
