I hunted in RSA with the 338 Lapua mag.
I used 275 grn Swift A-frame 850 m/sec
It is a real killer I used my TRG 42 with NXS 5,5-22X56 if I could se it it died.
only one bullet was recpvered from a bleu wilderbeast shot at 330 meters.
The caliber ever panetrated eland on both schoulder blades.
and on the duiker and steinbuck the trauma was keept to aceptable levels due to the heavy bullet and the moderate volosity.
I had a 8X57 mauser for back up but never used it.
Even with the 275 grn bullet the trajectory is flat.
