The British dailies are a never ending source of fun for me. I have never believed newspaper can actually spend so much time printing utter nonsense.

I hope Nikon remains unavailable for comment. Whatever they might say it will piss off someone. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

Is that some ridiculous crap or what? About Nikon being unavailable for comment, sometimes it's just best to let idiots carry on without response. A lesson I'm learning here on AR again this past week!

Oddly enough, that scope is listed as "discontinued by manufacturer" on Midway's website as well as a few others. Nikon's website still shows a 1-4x20mm scope, but the Cape Buffalo has been removed from the turret and replaced with their usual Monarch Stag logo. It is also just called the Monarch 3 German #4. It references safaris in the advertisement, but not the actual scope. Wonder if some bad publicity is what changed it. ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris

What if these fools also suddenly discover that a vast majority of the Nikon binos being used today are also being used to spot and hunt animals?! Oh what humanity!!!

Anyone here have one of these scopes they want to sell? I need one for my 9.3X74R Merkel double rifle. I bought one of the 30mm Weaver Illuminated scopes but that thing weighs a ton, and the Nikon weighs 16.9 OZ, better suited for use on a double rifle. I can still use the Weaver on my Ruger No1 45-70 for use in a blind over bait for black bear. In that case the extra weight is a plus with my hot handloads. ................................................................... ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith
