Shared a tent with Walter in 2013. He made me feel welcome and had a sense of humour I related to. A good bloke with a lovely family. I'm glad to have known him.

I’m saddened to read that we’ve lost a special member of our community. Walter provided levity and laughter for many. I’m glad to have met him after all the stories over the years. Saeed, my condolences over his loss but his suffering has ended.

Soon, there will be some glasses raised in his honor around campfires in the Selous.

There is a saying, “if you have two friends in your lifetime, you're lucky. If you have one good friend, you're more than lucky.” Sounds like Walter both had such friends and was such a friend to others. That’s a blessing. My condolences on his passing.
