DAPU, Dande Anti Poaching Unit. Do a search on the Forum and you will find a number of positive comments. SCI Houston supports DAPU and donations can be made through Conservation Force. Overseen by CM Safaris (Buzz Charlton and Myles McCallum). Dande Anti Poaching Unit Mike

The Tashinga Initiative Foundation. As per their website: "This Wildlife Protection Project is being implemented in the Protected Areas System of Zimbabwe’s Zambezi Valley and has been called “The Tashinga Initiative” based on the Shona word “Tashinga” which, loosely translated means “we have been on a journey of endeavour, and despite the challenges, we have won through”. Founder Director Lynne Taylor lived for 10 years in Matusadona National Park, Zambezi Valley, together with her Ecologist husband Russell and their children and her passion and love for the wildlife areas of the Zambezi Valley has never stopped growing. The on-going socio-economic crisis in Zimbabwe has presented critical challenges to maintaining conservation integrity and the continuity of wildlife protection efforts by the Rangers of the Parks Authority. The Tashinga Initiative addresses the needs in components such as infrastructure: Solar power, Radio communications, Internet communications, Roads, Ranger Anti-poaching Equipment, Mobility: Vehicles, boats, Ranger child education, Food security. All these components promote the well being of the Ranger and his family, enhancing morale and work ethic, and in turn, providing for the appropriate levels of protection being afforded to our wildlife." You can pay DAPU directly but it is tax deductible if you do it through Conservation Force. Mike

Another worthwhile consideration... http://www.wildzambezi.com/dir...oaching-project-mapp https://www.facebook.com/pages...MAPP/199482320230811 On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. In Zimbabwe, one of the best(if not the best) is DAPU in association with CMS. In Namibia, Jofe Lamprecht is running a very good anti poaching program. You can find info on either website. Karl Evans

The Friedkin Conservation Fund of Tanzania (FCF) FCF Friedkin Conservation Fund (“FCF”) operates as two separate but related entities – one is a Texas based nonprofit corporation that is registered as a 501(c)(3) entity in the United States, the other is known as “The Friedkin Conservation Fund of Tanzania” and is set up in Tanzania as a charitable Trust. FCF was established for the purpose of conserving more than 6.1 million acres of Tanzania's protected areas, including its wildlife, wilderness and the local stakeholders of these natural resources. FCF works closely with the Wildlife Division of Tanzania. Anti-poaching operations, innovative community development projects, and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and research programs are FCF's primary focus. "...Them, they were Giants!" J.A. The IAPF - International Anti Poaching Foundation. https://www.facebook.com/iapf.org?fref=ts They do a fantastic job in co-operation with Sabie Game Park and Kruger National Park, working together in cross border rhino poaching. Impressive.

+1. I've seen the results in person, and I was very impressed. JEB Katy, TX Already I was beginning to fall into the African way of thinking: That if you properly respect what you are after, and shoot it cleanly and on the animal's terrain, if you imprison in your mind all the wonder of the day from sky to smell to breeze to flowers—then you have not merely killed an animal. You have lent immortality to a beast you have killed because you loved him and wanted him forever so that you could always recapture the day - Robert Ruark DSC Life Member NRA Life Member

My advice is to look locally. Chengeta Wildlife, Imire, Matusadona Anti-Poaching Project, Tashinga Initiative, and the Gache Gache Anti-Poaching Unit are all good, for example, in Zimbabwe. If you do want to look internationally, always run a check with someone like Charity Watch first.

Folks thanks very much for the thumbs up on DAPU. We have just had Ziggy from Osprey down filming the progress of DAPU in what will no doubt be another excellent pro hunting documentary. Eny please look at http://cmsafaris.com/african-e...de-anti-poaching.htm and we will happily send you more info if you require. I take a very personal interest in DAPU and feel strongly that with out efforts from DAPU and other likewise Anti Poaching efforts hunting and wildlife in general is doomed! Cheers Buzz

PAMS Foundation. They need all the help they can get. ----------------------------------------- "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. -Henry David Thoreau, Walden

DAPU is good, and one very good international effort is the International Anti-Poaching Foundation run by Damien Mander.
