Which PH Course?

I recently did my dedicated hunters certificate which is required by law if you want to own more than 4 firearms in SA. Although the course was very basic is was very interesting.

That has now inspired me to do a PH course, just to learn more about the sport. I don't ever intend to guide clients or become an outfitter I just don't have the time.

Can any body suggest a reputable company to do the course with, there are many that offer the course but which is the better I have no idea?

You could try PeterV. He's involved in guiding and practical use of hunting firearms also. Just do a search on his name and you can contact him. BTW, he's in your neck of the woods.

Send 500Nitro (John Harris) a PM here on AR. He can get you set up.

There are a few schools in SA that do a PH course. You can obtain the names from the Professional Hunters organization. The schools range from not returning your call to very good.

If I had to pick only one, I'd suggest André Viljoen from Belmont Professional Hunters Academy -
Tel/fax +27 23 3121695
Cell +27 82 8989 306
email: besthunt@mweb.co.za
website: www.besthunt.co.za

I know André well, he has ages of all kinds of African hunting experience and he does a very good job.

Go and do it - it is a very rewarding experience and you'll learn a lot.
