Gents,

I'm looking for info regarding shipping of trophies from Zimbabwe. Specifically I'm looking for who ships from Zimbabwe.

I've used Safari Cargo Systems for trophies from South Africa. Do they also handle shipping of trophies from Zim?

Thanks for your help!

I would also be interested in the shipping rates from Zimbabwe, compared to South Africa. I was pleasantly surprised with the invoice amount from Safari Cargo Systems for my South African safari.

Where did you have your trophy taken?
Will they be raw or completed work?

I had issues wiring money and using CC to pay bills in Zimbabwe.

What i did was i had the South Africa freight forwarder include the Zimbabwe freight bill in their bill and i was able to wire money to South
Africa.

The Zimbabwe taxidermist that did some taxidermy work and the dip and pac, had a bank account in the states and i sent a check to their bank for payment.

Looking at your statement, as you have used Safari Cargo Systems before and they have your name on file. i would suggest that you contact them and see what you can work on to get your trophy's out of Zimbabwe to South Africa and then to your Taxidermist or home.

Although its been a couple years, like 12, I used Maple Freight and only remember having to go over the bill with them once or twice to get it right. I was only shipping salted hides and horns(don't get your work done over there, ship it to a State Side Taxidermist).

I'm researching this out for a friend. He killed a leopard in July. Dip and pack is all that will be done with the taxidermy being completed here.

I have probably had every forwarder, dip and packer, etc. from Zimbabwe in the years and would recommend Andy Hunter hands down to anyone else. By far the most competent. He is on AR under an African name but I am sure he will see these posts and reach out to you. I just cannot remember the name he posts under.

I've used Andy Hunter and will use him again in the future. He was the driving force getting my trophies back from my last trip, including tanned elephant hide. He did a great job.

Another vote for Andy Hunter. Great service on a large shipment for my partner and I, including my tanned elephant hides and ears.

Andy

I want to say thanks again--you went above and beyond for me and Paul Phelan.

It was a joy and a pleasure doing business with you.

Andy helped me out of a jam in 2006 with another agent on a shipment of trophies that included ivory. I've worked with him several times since and I'm always grateful for his help and professionalism.

Trophy Consultants International just completed a shipment for me on a huge order of so many different items made up from two bull elephants that I took. Export/Import documentation and shipping went without a hitch. The taxidermy, the mounted tusks, artwork and having leather work including shoes/boots being made at Courtney was greatly appreciated. I had the femur bones polished and cleaned as well as the two skulls creating a unique curiosity display to so many. Good luck on your hunt and with so much at risk make your choice wisely. Export/ Import documentation and procedures need to be very precise.
