Are these showing up with the 3 POS safety now?

Are the sights improved, or are they the same as the old ones?

Will,
Mine arrived same day as you posted this. They seem to be making the .404's first.

I have no jeweling of my bolt. No recoil reducer. Fancy wood. Matte blue. $1749.95 my price.

It holds five down plus enough room to press a sixth cartridge onto the top of the stack to CRF into the chamber. Too tight to close the bolt on six in the box. Feeds well for 5 in the box plus one chambered. The box is cosine perfect for .404 Jeffery in widths, but is 1/4" longer than need be. That is a plus to my way of thinking ...

Weighs about 9.5 to 9.75 pounds bare/unloaded with that thick bellied American "Fancy" stock, and balances right on the front action screw.

Muzzle diameter exclusive of the band is 0.666" just like the .375 H&H and the .416 Rigby CZ 550 Magnums.

I know where there is another one just like mine, with wood that is not as pretty as mine, for $1749.95. Yours has some nice extras, but I do not see the need for recoil reducers in the gentle .404 Jeffery, especially shooting the low velocity stuff that CZ has loaded for it. Nostalgia.

I just measured the twist rate of the barrel on my .404 Jeffery from CZ and compared it to my McGowen 10" twist.

They are the same. The rifling looks the same too.

CZ is using McGowen barrels in their .404 Jeffery rifles it do appear. thumb

I am glad they have listened to my recommendations. Wink

Will,
Just the RIP poster boy. Not me. Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. He is gratefully and well dead. It is supposed to be funny not scary, so I apologize if I have frightened you. Wink

I understand that you missed out on a lot of pop culture of the USA since you were raised in Mozambique and have spent so much time elephant hunting over the last three quarters of a century.
