March 19, 2010 International hunters have responded overwhelmingly to a hunting exhibition, the wild animals division of the Forestry Commission, Ngamo Safaris attended in Madrid, Spain this month. Commission information and communications manager Mr Abedinigo Marufu said the country had received many bookings following the Madrid hunting exhibition. "Our trip to Spain to market safari animal was a success as it attracted a lot of hunters," he said. Hunting, which is a means of managing animal populations and generating revenue, takes place from April to late October. The Forestry Commission uses revenue generated from hunting to preserve and maintain the forests. Worldwide hunting exhibitions are held every year, with delegations from countries gathering to exhibit their animal species. In addition to the Madrid exhibition, Zimbabwe also attends the Reno Safaris Club in America.
