Oom Flip,
how are you? I'm really happy to have your news. I'll send to you a PM asap.

Better the american stock, the bavarian with his angle tend to bridle when you shoot and the recoil sensatio2, by my opinion is increased.

bye

Maybe they feel good to a Bavarian?

I guess I'm in the minority but I really like the way my 'hogback' stock fits and feels. It's in a 404 Jeffery and it's sure a pleasant rifle to shoot.

Open sights it's a dream. With a scope there are no problems whatsoever.

Just for what one mans opinion is worth......

Flip - I have a CZ550 in the bavarian full stock, 9.3 X 62 and wish all my other rifle stocks fit and felt as good as this one does. Very nice wood, shoots well under an inch at 100yds, couldn't be more happy with this combination!! Try it, you will like it.

Ditto on the CZ 550 in 9.3 with the full stock and Bavarian Butt. Also I handled a Merkel SxS double in 9.3 with the hogback and it felt great, better than the straight comb Chapuis I had. I don't think it makes too much of a differnce, just a little. Basically it's a negative drop at comb. Makes it easier to use irons and then cheekweld for scope is a bit more upright, which if you think about it is correct. Your eye is centered in the socket. Winchester went to negative drop at comb with the last incarnation of the safari M70, the Classic Safari Express. I like it on those too.

I've been looking for a CZ 550 with a LUX stock in 9.3X62. I want the longer barrel, but alas, they aren't being imported anymore. I check the auction sites and while the full stock rifles are available, I just know one will surface one day.

As for the LUX stocks, I much prefer them to the American straight comb stocks. I like the looks, the "pointability", and as for recoil, I pad up for zeroing the rifle, then shoot off of sticks. My .416 and .375 can be thrown up to my shoulder and I'm looking down the iron sights with perfect alignment. Yes, with the scope, I do have to lift my face up a tad to see thru the scope, but if I'm using the scope, then it isn't a up close and personal encounter of the unwelcome kind.
