I’ve got a friend who writes articles for our local papers outdoor and hunting section…

He wants to do an article on the requirements for becoming a professional hunter in Zimbabwe…

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find some info???

Thanks…

Zimbabwe Professional Hunter's and Guides Association website is www.zphga.com

There are some email addresses there which you can use to do your follow up.

I suggest he email Martin Pieters who can provide all the info he might need on the qualifications and testing process (he works w/SOAZ and National Parks). Note Martin may be in the field hunting now.

martin@bulembisafaris.co.zw

Note that in the article he should be careful to differientiate between the requirements for a Zim resident, versus somebody from the US which may or may not be realistic.

The July/Aug 2010 issue of Successful Hunter. Ganyana has an excellent article in the magazine concerning becoming a Professional Hunter, "Schooled in Africa".
