I wanted to get your opinions, dangerous lead in lol, as African hunters on what you like to see and/or don't like to receive as far as media and structure in regard to information from Safari Operators.

We do not do cold calls or email distribution to individuals/parties that haven't contacted us first. Our information packet typically includes our brochure, DVD of previous season and contact information.

Our current DVD format has concentrated mostly on over the shoulder hunting footage of client's safaris. We are thinking of changing this to more of a review of our facilities, hunting areas and general information about our operation and staff.

Which format would you prefer, more hunting or review of facilities and operations?

Review of operation. I don't much care to just watch someone else shoot stuff. I do care if the facilities are substandard and the area looks like a wasteland....

I would think Drone footage of your hunting area would do well. Drone footage is a newer format, so I would get some footage out before it becomes common place!

I agree with jdollar. Video of someone shooting another kudu may not be of great benefit. I think some well posed trophy pix and some good footage of the whole camp would interest me. Rob's idea about the drone footage might be interesting also particularly if you have some open country.

I think a bit of both...video of camp and area as well as some hunts. Watching others hunt gives me a great idea of what the hunting is like and if it's for me. At the end of the day, I can sleep pretty well anywhere if the hunting meets my expectations.

Ditto. Especially just the trophy pics. Maybe a few of each species. No need to show the stalk etcetera, unless it's really exciting!

Don't forget to include non hunting activates for those significant others. The greatest benefit for me going on more hunting trips is when my wife asks what the shopping in the curio markets is like. If there's some shopping to be had, my species list increases exponentially.

And that's how I was able to go hunting in Namibia for cheetah for our honeymoon.
