vapodog, as Ann posted, that is a Grey/Bush/Common Duiker.
Scriptus, I copied this list from a report on the Duiker's of Africa. Looks like someone made a mistake? Even more confusing, Grimmia is listed as the Grey/Bush/common Duiker.
From Wikipedia:
The Common Duiker, Sylvicapra grimmia, also known as the Gray or Bush Duiker, is a small antelope with small horns found in west, central, east, and southern Africa- essentially everywhere in Africa south of the Sahara, excluding the horn of Africa and the rainforests of the central and western parts of the continent. Generally they are found in habitat that has sufficient vegetation cover to allow them to hide—savanna and hilly areas, including the fringes of human settlements.

David, if you do not already have a copy, Duikers of Africa, Masters of the Forest Floor is a great reference book in trying to sort them all out. There is still much to learn about these critters. Hard to observe and much of their behavior and life history is not well known. I am sure with a little time, money and some remote cameras we could figure out a little more.

Lol on baseus. Yes it would be a good study. Many are so secretive they are rarely seen other than hunting, let alone observed, tracked and understood. I'm a fan of the little guys.

One of my greatest thrills is to be fortunate enough while "still" hunting, to observe the interaction of duikers, both blue and grey, when there is a female in oestrus. The amount of energy expended is amazing.
Mr Keith, I think that you will find that the difference is that Sylvicapra has a preference for savanna woodland and open bush country. On the other hand Cephalophus are forest dwellers.
The accepted name of Sylvicapra is bush duiker, either southern or western. The grey/gray does help to identify them as opposed to blue, yellow backed etc. According to SMITHERS, there are some 19 sub-species through-out Africa with 6 sub-species in the Southern Africa sub- region.
One of the interesting things about all the duikers, apart from a wide variety of graze and browse species, they actually hunt small mammals, insects and even small birds up to the size of domestic hens. They also been recorded eating carrion. I do trust that this is not too boring. Cool

I saw one Suni at this hunt, but it were too fast.
It`s a litle bit overkill to shoot this small ones with a 375, I used a 286 grs Solid on the Red Duiker, nothing were ruined. Excellent bullet for this small ones

For sure! Hunting the little Suni in the understory of the Mozambique woodlands is a great hunt. Their tails buzz back and forth so quickly they look like they're electric. I found Suni and Blue Duikers cohabit the same areas in Moz. You spend your time stooping down to look under the bushes for their little forms, but their tails give them away.
