This is for fairgame - the silver fox & his vixen giving a "motivational" talk.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht6TTA8z3MI

Please watch the entire clip. It is a wealth of misinformation e.g. only 50,000 wild leopards surviving in Africa?

Cheers.

mis-information, yes. But the masses are hanging from their lips and pouring millions of $ to stop all hunting!

Chuck,

You are 100% correct but like Mich says...they're the recipients of millions...yes millions of $ to further their agenda.

That is why hunters must be educated in the facts and turn the table on them with these very facts (only the facts though)...but also...we need the same media attention. This is a mission of the LCTF. We hope to help Zig with Osprey Filming to make an equal documentary on the gruesome facts of lion poaching and how hunters preserve and maintain lion habitat.

You are correct, and it is working! These are the people that are responsible for Botswana's closures! In fact, you will see The Botswana's Presidents name in the credits of their movies. I only wish we had someone like them on our side! They make incredible movies!

Are they lying about the information they present, or are they really that stupid?

I loved this one: "Many people believe that death begins in the eyes . . . " Only if you happen to be watching a Joubert video!

What a sappy load of nonsense.

They are clearly professional self-promoters and flim-flam artists.

FWIW I wrote my opinion of this here:
http://orionmind.blogspot.com/...le-truth-please.html
Here:
http://orionmind.blogspot.com/...e-on-lion-issue.html
and here:
http://orionmind.blogspot.com/...s-in-news-again.html

If some populations can't sustain hunting then I am not opposed to localized moratoria BUT in their presentation the Joubert's give scant mention to loss of habitat and agrarian conflicts and a disproportional amount of negative currency to hunting.

Somebody who has no idea or opinion would easily be swayed by their evangelistic pitch. They are indeed “good”...

Information presented as "facts" in this clip include:

- Out of a total estimated population of 20,000 lion, only 3-4,000 are males

- When one [pride male lion] is killed [shot], between 20-30 total lion are killed

- Leopard numbers are at 50,000, and over the past 5 years 10,000 leopard have been legally shot by safari hunters

Lane/Aaron/Mich - What are your thoughts on these numbers? Do you have the data to dispute these figures?

Bwana, does this mean when the hunting of all wild game ceases we may hunt hanging lips? I'd love to try that with a knife Cool

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
