I took a quick tour in Pilanesberg after may hunting trip nereby in Apr. this year. The park is a nice place and there was plenty of game to se. We dindnt have a lot of time on our hands so we didnt see a lot of the big five..... We got to se elephant and rihno. I had hope to se buffalo and leopard since I got to se the other in big five in other places. We didnt se eather buffalo or leopard at Pilanesberg but I dont regret the trip thru the park at all! We had a "close and personal" experience with a herd of elephant cows, calfs and young males. We where on a ded end road and the elephants decided that we needed a rest in the car The herd blocked the road for well over a houer... Some tourists got a bit stressed and tried to pass the herd on the road. A few cows showed some temper and the attemts stopped A small male gave a couple a lasing memory by denting a fender on their small sedan! We had a great day!

While we saw rhinos, elephants, and buffalo, we didn't see any of the big cats on our trip. This was disappointing to say the least. We did tour the Muholoholo wildlife rehabilitation center, and saw lions and leopards there, but it isn't the same thing. For anyone looking for a charity to which to donate, this one qualifies as a decent place to put some money: http://www.moholoholo.co.za/Rehab/Brian_Jones.htm http://www.africa-adventure.org/m/moholorehab/index.htm
