A "friend" on facebook sent me this link. The misinformation is scary. ]Africa's Poaching Crisis Tom Addleman tom@dirtnapgear.com

Interesting. While parts of what they state are correct, when they say that grenade launchers are used for poaching, I have to wonder where they get their info. "Lions, Extinct in 7 African Countries!" I see now why people outside the hunting industry think Zebras are endangered. Sites like this one spouting how Zebras are "Hunted for their skins and used as meat and medicine." Wonder who is behind this organization? PETA? ALF? HSUS? I am sure they want money, wonder which anti-hunting organization winds up getting it.

Uh oh. If the word ever gets out that Rhino horn can cure hangovers they'll really be in trouble.

Grenades and RPGs allow for the easy removal of 'phant teeth, although a little messy at times.

Scriptus, Are you not aware of this new technique in the poaching industry? The RPG is fired up the Ele's rear end and the exploding projectile within the abdominal cavity creates such pressure that the tusks pop out of their sockets, all nice and clean, ready for the market. The deployment of the RPG on Ele's with ivory less than 15lbs per side is not recommended as the tusks tend to land quite a distance away from the skull and can sometimes be lost.

It is quite obvious then that techniques have been improved. Have you any idea what fuse is being utilised?

Latest Chinese technology - approx. 4 secs impact type. Most effective if it scores "a hole in one"

Humm!! I'll go with the impact, 4 secs, the damn thing will be 400 meters on the other side of the 'phant. A pass through and through solid of note.
