As part of a prior trip, I acquired an elephant ear, very artfully painted, that represents the bull that I took on that trip. Now my intentions are to display the ear/artwork on the wall. The question at hand is how best to accomplish that. I have seen one that was actually framed like a piece of artwork -- however thatone was not a large ear where mine is pretty good sized and the frame would be quite large. I'm thinking of somehow affixing to some type of backing or backboard but haven't been able to come up with the answer. Any ideas?? OMG!-- my bow is "pull-push feed" - how dreadfully embarrasing!!!!!

Mine has a fiberglass backing and the hangers are attached and just hang on the wall.

Mounting with a solid plywood backer has done just fine for mine. Mark DRSS "I always take care to fire into the nearest hillside and, lacking that, into darkness." - the late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

I have my two painted elephant ears hanging, in frames, on either side of the open front foyer of our house. They were mounted and framed by Michael's. (Although they told me that they would never do another project like that again. )

Ok --- gluing to a plywood or hardboard backer looks like what I want --- question-- what kind of adhesive should I use? OMG!-- my bow is "pull-push feed" - how dreadfully embarrasing!!!!!

Had both of my ele's ears tanned then painted. Once I got them home I went to Lowe's and bought the thinnest plywood they had-usually used for backing of a stereo cabinet, etc. Traced the ears on the plywood-cut it out with a jigsaw. Both ears had a couple of holes, so I spray painted the wood black. On the recommendation of my taxidermist I bought floor tile cement at Lowe's (contact cement) and rolled a coat on the wood and then the back side of the ears. For them to look good on the wall you will need to apply some pressure to the top of the ears. Both of mine were large enough that I needed two 4x8 sheets of the plywood. I used the scraps to apply pressure to the ears while the cement set up. No bubbles, look great. Then just used a picture hanging kit to apply to the back side and hung them on the wall. Visitors think they are actual paintings until I tell them what they are. "Never, ever, book a hunt with Jeri Booth or Detail Company Adventures"
