Kenya would have a far better chance of preserving its rare species if it hadn't closed the country to sport hunting!

Of course, the text of the report blames hunting while the interviews and video clearly identify habitat encroachment as the key issue. Most news outlets fail to distinguish hunting as not at all the same as bushmeat or other poaching and that will remain a challenge to get the media to recognize how hunting conserves animals by drastically increasing their value in terms of jobs and income.

As many have said before when wildlife don't pay their way, they will be gone especially as Africa's population increases and habitats are consumed and altered.
