My first 22 had .22 Short, Long and Long Rifle engraved on the barrel. Wouldn't it be a simple thing for .458 Lott and .458 WinMag rechambered to Lott owners to have a similar stamp on their rifles to avoid any problems with firearms control in South Africa? Same thing for anyone with an "improved" caliber using both "improved" headstamped brass and base caliber brass. Is there something wrong with this approach? _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I guess the old double rifles we carry are in from trouble since most don't have markings on the rifle that match the headstamps. Has anyone here actually had ammo confiscated because of headstamp problems? Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. all you have to do is to take the rifle to most any gunsmith & he will have letter stamps that he can put the extra caliber desigination on the barrel for you. Probably a $10 job
