Nice job! I remember you saying the new record was on its way...
I have heard that in some areas, the banks of lake Chamo are simply covered by crocodiles.
How many hunting days do you add on for a this hunt?

Boghossian,

Ishi! Tillik Nau!

12 days for a Croc hunt by itself but a 7 day add on to larger safaris. Only 5 licenses per year though. We use it for an SCI donation for the next few years and save one license per year
accordingly. Wise hunters already have it filled into 2008.

Rich,

Can't wait to see the pictures. Truly amazing legths. I wonder how old these guys are and how much they weigh...

Do you guys ever shoot "black" leopards? I have read in books by JH Keith and Capstick that Ethiopia has (or had) the highest consentration of them in Africa.

Make sure that the photos are posted. I hear that big crocs are sometimes anywhere between 70 and 120 years old. Would be interesting to know what (or better, who) they have eaten in that time period.

Brett,

There's a 20% incidence of black (melanistic) leopards. We've taken a few. There's a picture of one in African Hunter II.

We take a few black serval as well. Back in the good old days I shot a normal spotted one and and black one within 5 minutes of each other.

Rich,

Are those measurements a nose to tail or along the curves?

SCI measure along the curves. Probably about 2 feet shorter if emasured in a straight line. Still a monster croc!

I feel certain that it's SCI measurement (Over the contour). I do have a picture of the 2 servals and will post it next week., I'm out for most of today and then gone the next 3.
