All,

What are the best/most informative lion hunting books or DVDs? Has anyone made a definitive book or DVD on lion hunting like Boddington on buffalo or CMS on Hunting the African Elephant? I recently read Cundill's book Some Lions I Have Met and have ordered The Guide to aging lions. What else is there?

Brett

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

"In the Jaws of Simba" has a really good lion charge in it.

Been a couple of good 'how to' lion hunting articles in the last couple editions of African Hunter.

I suspect the definative edition of "how to hunt lion" will be Wayne Grants new book. His "into the Thorns" is the best work I have ever read on leopard hunting and he is working (with Africn Hunter?) on a follow up in the ' Art of hunting..' series. But not ready till jan 2010

The Book of the Lion by Sir Alfred Pease is a treasure of information and experience.
