Folks - If you scroll down, you will see our fine owner/boss has created a new forum entitled "African Lions Hunting Management And Ecology". Please guys, use this option too, for all things lion. Questions about hunting, lion management, concerns, etc. Anything that's lion, we want to see it, hear it, and talk about it.

Perhaps for starters, someone can help show me how to also post the "Aging the African Lion" thread, in this new forum?

Thanks,

Aaron Neilson

It seems that you’ve created an entirely new subsection, “Conservation” and within that, the “African Lions Hunting Management And Ecology” forum.

First off, that’s a good start. Hopefully, there will be other forums devoted to other species and conservation issues.

But if is to be of any real value, it must be more than a separate place for the well-informed, misinformed, uninformed and maladjusted to boisterously exchange their opinions.

There must be a data-bank, library or repository where scientific studies, research reports, population surveys, and so on can be uploaded in a standard format (PDF ideally), as well as organized in such a manner that data may be retrieved with relative ease.

That’s no easy task, but it would make a major contribution to the preservation and restoration of wildlife in Africa. The Rhino-Resource-Center has a data-bank of over fifteen thousand reports related to Rhino Conservation alone ... and it’s searchable and browsable by subject, country and taxon.

Steve - Much of that above, is good advice. We have the ability to have attachments/downloads in our Wikispace for the lion conservation issues, but I am not exactly sure what you can do on the AR forum pages. Will have to see, but thanks for the advice.

Well done Saeed.

Aaron, just open your thread as if you were going edit it, select all of it and copy and paste onto new thread.
