How early in the year do PAC ele hunts begin? I read that there are some going on now in Bots, does anyone know about when they are conducted in Zim, or elsewhere?

Thank you

As far as I know, the crops get raided in February , March, April and early May.
This may depend on if the crops where planted early or late.

We start as early as mid-Feb in Zim but it will probably be wet (esp. this year) and hot. March and April (harvest months) are best. If you want to do some other hunting as well, then mid-April is the practical start to hunting in the Valley, so book your PAC from mid April through mid June. But it will still be very thick and the game is not concentrated as it is later in the season. After end May, PAC activity falls off because there is no longer any reason for the elephant to make dangerous forays into the farming areas (and by definition, PAC are taken in areas where there is settlement). At the very end of the dry season, there are some sporadic opportunities depending on where the water is (farming areas all have water troughs) and the odd banana plantation gets raided even during the winter months.

We have openings in late Mar and early April, at $7500 incl. 10 days. We shoot bulls only (unless we have to shoot a cow).

Remember there are PRoblem Ellies...the PAC's and then there is some "qouta cows" (cull) available from October to December.....they are a bit cheaper than the PAC's but then again, it is cows and not bulls, as Russ pointed out...

We offer these hunts.
