Fit a bottle opener on the 'open end' and a corkscrew on the inside curve.

With the right conformation of tusk and the right woman as recepient can make a warthog tusk collar, I'll bet. Did so with a pair of wild boar (sanglier) tusks and it came out well.

You join the two bases with silver (or gold if you can afford it Smiler ) in such a way that the tusks circle the neck.

Regards

Could you post a pic of the collar, or PM it to me?

Sounds interesting.

Thanks

I have seen some smaller ones used as knife handles. They really looked good.

I made a hat/coat rack. I cut the tusks with a chop saw / masonry blade so they were pretty much the same size ... filled them with a mix of sawdust and white glue ... and back-screwed them on an oak board centered on cabinet-drawer escutcheons.

It works and looks great.

If you have the tail and what it is "attached" to, you could also make a unique plaque. Tusks are mounted as normal, but above them is that "rear" piece with the tail sticking up. It makes a very interesting conversation piece. At least among my friends.

If you want a picture of the collar necklace go to www.africansc.com we put mammoth bark in the seam and buff all of it to a nice satin gloss. Make sure you cut enough of the ends off to avoid cracking it from the heat generated by the curing of the epoxy

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
