This thread should probably go under some kind of miscellaneous catagory.....but here it is anyway. If you choose to move it. Just let me know where it went! Having had the privilege of making a number of trips to numerous countries throughout Africa, I have had the privilege of picking up any number of BEAUTIFUL coins from now 'Dead Nations', as coins go. Except South Africa. I think they are still alive? Anyway.....I sure like the older 2 Shilling coins from Rhodesia (the ones with the Sable on the reverse), and, the Absolutely beautiful Congo Elephant coins. Anybody else so afflicted. This is a Hunting site.....not a coin collecting site.........There, I said it first!

I would be interested to know how you got it. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

I remember that in the Milwaukee, WI area there used to be a chain of sandwich shops that gave away Biafran baknotes as coupons of some sort. This would have been in the early '70's. I had one that I carried around in my wallet for years as a curiosity, but I'm not sure where it is now. Obviously that was after the failed attempt to establish an independant Biafra. I wonder how they got their hands on the notes. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear the story.

I will try to post pics tomorrow. I attempted to cut off my trigger finger to night working on an ac unit. Luckily, I failed on the finger but succeeded on fixing the ac unit.
