Couldn't open or watch it but if even one Masai is trying to resolve the Masai/Lion conflict with no dead lions, I'm in favor of it. Can I invest in this kid's invention?

He designed and built a system using flashing lights to keep lions away. Used materials he had on hand. Then made more for his neighbors.
Smart kid.

Not bad for a kid growing up in the bush in Africa without all the technological stimulation that western kids have. Good on him.
I'm not so sure that the Cats wont figure it out at some stage though.

I prefer to spray a dose of 'Lion Off' which comes in .600 grain non reusable capsules.

Expensive but very effective.

I saw one program where a Botswana farmer has made a fence with a number of bee hives in boxes. They are attached by a wire & if an elephant approaches & touches the wire / fence, the bees are stirred up & the sting the elephants' ears & trunk. This fence has been very successful in keeping elephants away from crops!

Actually, strobes are not a bad idea. They make any animal uncomfortable.

They get used to the lights after some time. Short term solution.
