I'd love to hunt Spain, but the trophy fees on all the trips I've looked into are just too high. For the cost of the trophy fees alone on a couple Ibex and a Red deer I can swing a 2 or 3 week trip to Africa. It's just not within the price range of the average guy.

Marc,

If you like hunting in Europe, and if you like hunting in the Alps I strongly ask you to consider hunting with me next year in the Alps for chamois and moufflon.

I have been hunting the same areas now six years in a row, always with good success. 100 plus CIC point chamois are normal, and 105-107 CIC points, even though they don't grow on trees, are not an exception.

If you are interested, please ask and I'll be happy to give you more details.

Sorry for the delay, 500gr, but as I mentioned in my post, I have been away for the last days.

Our hunts are based on a daily fee of 450 euros per hunter and 200 euros per non-hunting companion.

That price is all inclusive from and to the pick-up airport, except for the trophy fees, alcoholic drinks, and the preparation and shipping of the trophies/capes.

Trophy fees are 4,000 euros for Gredos or Beceite Ibex, 1,950 euros for Red Deer, 1,650 euros for Fallow Deer, 1,500 for moufflon, 950 euros for wild boar.

Appart from Gredos and Beceite we hunt in different private states in the provinces of Ciudad Real, Caceres, Guadalajara and Teruel.

All trophies taken will be field measured according to CIC (Conseil International de la Chasse et de la Conservation) standards, and a medal fee charged accordingly to the size of the trophy.

I consider this form of payment to be the most convenient for the hunter, as he will always pay the real value of his trophy.

The stregth of the euro versus de USD does not make hunting in Spain precisely cheap these days, but hunting and staying in Spain will make it up to you and your family should you decide to bring them along.

Please let me know your thoughts and I will be happy to expand details at your request.

Yours sincerely,

Alvaro Mazon

Sure it is within the nemans of most folks. It just depends on what you want and what your priorities are.

Some folks like less physically demanding hunts with nice accomodations, lots of shooting and very high siccess ratios.

Others prefer more physical exertion (bordering on extreme), sleeping in frozen tents with dehydrated food once a day, with the possibilty of maybe getting to shoot one animal.

THere is no right or wrong. Personally, I prefer the alpine hunting. Yes, for the cost of one sheep, I could spend a couple of weeks in Africa and shoot a box of ammo at game. That does not mean it is right or wrong-only right for me. Others prefer sleeping in a bed or at least on a cot and eating real food and being dry at night. That does not mean it is right or wrong-only right for them.

Spain is plenty affordable if that is what you prefer to do. I like hunting in Europe and will continue to go there. I am looking forward to the web site getting going so I can see what he is offereing.

Marc,

I hope you'll enjoy these pictures.

the picture is not very good, due to the weather conditions... you can see my bavarian bloodhound standing behind me while we were working out the stalk.

a hard day, and a hardly earned trophy... this is as good as it gets, Alpine hunting at its best.

best regards
