SaeedYou know, we went to South Africa last year on a photo safari.
What we saw was an eye openner.
There was a Russian couple in the camp - they never left it to go out??
There were many other tourists actually asleep in the back of their safari car??
Others were taking photos with their smartphones - does say much about their own "smarts"

Exactly.
That is why we always book our own guide and our own truck.
No sharing, and we do as we please.

Imagine the fun of being in a group with him ....
In case anyone is confused - that above was irony.

boerbokribHe tells the guy that there is a very dangerous animal in the bush. He then tells him to shut upand restates it but in afrikaans. Then he tells him to stay put and not move he is sending a jeep to pick the guy up. The adjectives I think are universal.

BvekenyaIt takes all types to make society, I just hope that German guy is the last of his clan, the gene pool can do without more imbeciles.

As a good German friend of mine says about his modern countrymen - All the good one's died in the last war...
I do wonder how long the guy with the lion call remains behind the bush? That's got to be a crappy job.

lavacaI won't share a camp anymore for that reason. The world is full of idiots and while I'm subjected to them in the world, and even have to be nice to them (never been very good at it), I don't have to even try when I'm on vacation. That's what makes it a vacation.
Opus raises an interesting point. The "lion" was never seen and wasn't very vocal given the apparent proximity. Do you suppose ...? That would have been rather ingenious.

ScriptusA "set-up" unless the guide is as big an idiot as the idiot. [ not a Schuster stunt?]
If that is genuine, in such circumstances, turn the whole lot around back to camp and leave the idiot there.

Venture SouthThis is an example of the guide making a bad situation worse.
If I understood right there were supposed to be Lions there, his actions inflamed the situation. He should have quietly walked them out of there and dealt with the situation else where.
We all get frustrated by clients occasionally, but your job is to keep the clients safe, not indulge your need to vent when things don't go your way.

boerbokribSorry Guys it appears that this was a hoax.
http://www.channel24.co.za/Vir...-was-a-hoax-20150326Cape Town - That viral video of an angry game ranger swearing at a German tourist turned out to be a hoax.
The sneaky folks over at SA's top jobbing website, Careers24.com, has come forward to claim ownership of a video that went viral locally and internationally this week.
The video even fooled some international publications and caught the attention of sites such as Fox News and The Daily Mail UK. Since it went live it has received 170 000 YouTube views and nearly 260 000 views on Traveller24 since it went live last Sunday.
The video features a tourist repeatedly getting in the way and speaking loudly while on a walk with a game ranger. The ranger eventually loses his cool, starts swearing and storms off leaving the whole group of tourists to fend for themselves while a potentially dangerous animal lurks nearby.

Opus1If I was the dude with the lion call behind the bush I would certainly be looking for another line of work.
