I have read a lot of references to North Fork bullets on this forum. A number of posters seem to think they are the best of the premium bullet designs available today. I have read their website carefully and know that they produce hunting bullets for reloaders. Occasionally someone will post that are buying ammunition with North Fork bullets. After a google search I could find only a few loads from Hawk and Dakota. Superior doesn't list them.

Are there any others? Is their any custom bullet manufacturer that has a comprehensive line for .300 Win Mag? I don't reload. Say 150, 165, 180, 200gr. I'd like to slow down the velocities for close-in game shots and less meat damage. Again, I don't reload.

A search on this website has not found a similar thread.

Any suggestions are welcome.

(If this post doesn't belong here, please accept my apologies. I know it is the most often read one on this website.)

Thanks.

If you want 300 mag loads for close in shooting try Federal or Remington's 300 Win Mag reduced recoil loads. I have used the 30-06 load in my drilling to kill 3 pigs with excellent results.

I think Superior Ammo will load North Fork bullets for you.

If they do not, then Trophy Bonded Bearclaws and Swift A Frames will give you similar performance.

I believe that Superior will custom load ammo for your rifle with NF bullets, at least they did for a friend of mine. You might have to purchase the bullets yourself and send them along with your rifle.

Call Larry at Superior and tell him what you want and I'm sure he will accommodate you. He has done some unusal loading for me without any problems.
The suggestion about the reduced recoil loads is a good one if available in 300.

Superior will definitely do it. It is on their printed price list even if it is not mentioned on their web site.

What the hell, it's a good excuse to start reloading. The North Forks are a great game bullet, additionally Mike is a good person to do business with. You won't need to slow down the velocity to save meat, just use a bullet that holds together and doesn't explode, such as the NF or Barnes TSX.

Thanks. That's good info. Do you have product numbers for those loads?

The confines of a Manhattan apartment obviate that option. But thanks on the TSX also.

I just got back fron the range where I shot a sample pack of 300 grain Northforks that Superior loaded for my .375 H&H. The best of the four shot groups measured right at .75 in. Best of all that load also shot to the same POI as the TBSH solids that I plan to use.

I also got a similar group with some 400 grain TSX bullets that Larry loaded for my .416 Rem. All in all a very enjoyable day at the range thanks to the good work of the folks at Superior.

I have had good luck with John at Safari Arms. He's loaded both the .416 Rem and the .458 Lott for me. He has a website.
