It's listed as Saeed AlMaktoum on the Olympics site. But I think it must be a relative as he's listed as shooting skeet. Saeed's brother I believe shot trap.
I didn't see it but just when I think the wife doesn't pay attention. She yells out to me I think your friend was just on tv. I of course had no idea at first what she was talking about. Then was amazed she even realized the relationship. It could easily have been our friend as he was world class in the day. However without verifying or seeing it I think it was the younger one. The cousin is also shooting I see. The Al Maktoum family has 2 shooters as well as another cousin I think who is shooting. I predict at least one medal for the UAE. Perhaps Saeed will jump in when he gets a chance. I imagine he is probably at the games either way.

I have been travelling, so have not seen the opening of the London Olympics - in fact, I am posting from the First Class Lounge of Qatar Airways in Doha right now, on my way home.
My brother Ahmed is not participating, his doctor has adviced him to take it easy.
He won the Gold in Double Trap 8 years ago. He is the firs person from the UAE to win an Olympic medal.
As you can imagine, I am very proud of him.
When he was a little kid I used to sit him in my lap, and shoot doves with me aiming and him pulling the trigger. We missed some but we also got a few.
Saeed is my cousin, and we wish him the best of luck.

Thanks for the clarification Saeed. Sorry to hear Ahmed is still unable to participate in the sport he loves but his health must come first. I hope that the cousins put on a good showing and wish them luck. I just finished watching the mens archery final a bit ago and it is apparent there is a good deal of nerves all around. Still was exciting to watch. Looking forward to being able to see all of the shooting events this year.
