FjoldI think what makes that Leopard so attractive to me is the thickness in the neck and head.

WOnder why people can't just take dumb onest pics?
Thanks Jeffe. I call that a "Boddington Pose."
It is still a huge and wonderful leopard, but the foreground magnification and background shrinkage by the lens sure add some "optical illusion."
23 September 2006, 02:29
KC CarlinWho painted the spots on that lion?

VERY nice Leopard!

Michael RobinsonThat leopard is no illusion. He is a monster.
His head and shoulders are immense. They are not the least bit distorted and need no photographer's "magic" to show their true size.
Nine feet two inches long. Just think about that. A seven and a half foot long leopard is considered large. And a seventeen inch skull. Wow!
Just open the record books and take a look. I have been coming back to this thread all day and staring at that leopard in utter amazement!
Thanks, Bwanamich, for posting.

john eI believe it is an exceptional kitty, and would love to have that hair-ball hanging on my wall. I agree with Mrlexma...photos may lie, but the stats don't.
Congrats to the young lady. Any chance on a follow up story, sharing all the details of the hunt?

Jeffe,
You need make no apologies. You are 100% correct.
It may be a massive cat, but it is magnified by optical illusion created by the camera lens.
I would like to know how much both the cat and the woman (way back there behind it) weigh.

I'd guess she weighs more than me, and I weigh more than that tom leopard.
24 September 2006, 06:47
308SakoThat is truly the trophy of a lifetime! Magnificent and beyond compare. Those who have taken Mr Spots in the light of day (only) can concur that the trophy has a special place in ones hunting heart.

Pauly3511That woman could be sitting on its back and someone would question the size. She could be holding it up with someone with a tape measure next to it and people would question it. Some people just cant be happy for others I dont know if its jealousy of ignorance ,,,who knows. Great cat, good for her.

Sir,
I find pictures exaggerating to be disrespectful of the animal. I asked for an honest photo, to appreciate the animal has it grew, and chrise it. Pictures that dont accurately record the animal are not, imnsoho, are disrespectful and somewhat disonest.
Jealousy? Ignorance? Hardly, but you are welcome to your opinion. Please reread my posts on the subject, this is an exceptional, perhaps unique animal. I find the pictures overstating the animal(and there's a certain amount of irony for this coming from a Texan) to be, well, distasteful.
Cheers
jeffe

BwanamichDisrespectful? That´s a load of croc if oyu ask me. What is more respectful then trying to make a trophy stand out when taking a picture? If you truly believed that philosophy, you would not take pictures of yourself with your trophies. Is that what you do?
