I was recently hunting with Mark Young in the Kafue and we came across this trophy reedbuck.

Very well and Mark took a good Crawshays Defassa waterbuck on the first morning and a 15 inch Reedbuck later on.

I have never hunted a Reedbuck. What is a good size? How big is that one approximately? Just not familiar with them.

LittleJoe,

A good trophy reedbuck is illustrated above and was taken by the good lady Joyce. This reedbuck was measured at 14 inches (Rowland Ward entry)if I am not mistaken. I think the world record is somewhere in the region of 19 inches plus which is monstrous.

This large reedbuck would be 16 inches and his horns were fairly flat. Note if his horns were to curve then a couple of inches could be added to that measurement.
