I have never had to track a wounded animal longer than this waterbuck. We followed blood and then tracks for what seemed like forever and boy was I glad when we found it. Making Rowland Ward wasn't even on my mind and when the taxidermist later contacted me to ask if I wanted it registered I thought he had made a mistake.  _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim. | |||

  Not an african species, but taking this 42" record book stone with my hunting buddy, and my dad was a day to remember. My buddies ram was 41 inches. | |||

 There are 2 more up there now. All from a ranch I used to lease in western OK. Had that place for 10 years and wished I had never let it go. I've got 3 that really stand out in my mind. Probably my favorite is a Colorado Mountain Goat. It took 22 years to draw the tag and I took him at 13,800 ft in elevation on an unguided backpack hunt in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness Area. He was taken on 12 Sept 2001. That's the day after the towers came down. It was 5 days after the attack before I knew what happened. He's right at 9 inches on both horns which is about as good as you can expect from a Colorado Goat. For some reason Colorado just doesn't produce huge goats but I wouldn't trade that one for the world record.  I'm also very proud of the Western Roan. Took him in Cameroon in 2004. He was over 30 inches on both horns. Roan like that are not common anywhere.  Probably my third choice would be a Cape Eland. He was a little over 39 inches on one horn and just a little under 39 inches on the other. He's the biggest Cape I've seen in the field.  | |||
